ABOUT US
YOUR FIBER OPTIC SOLUTIONS PARTNER
A global industry leader in fiber optic connectivity, Megladon has spent 15 years developing and perfecting the HLC® interconnect. Our patented technology and process results in the only reference grade interconnect that is reliable, rugged, repeatable and provides maximum performance. With millions of fiber assemblies deployed worldwide from our Austin, TX facility, our fiber optic technology has been proven time and again to solve many of the problems encountered in network deployment and maintenance. We have also used the HLC® process as the foundation to develop unique passive fiber optic solutions for our customers.
Our on-site fiber optic cable assembly as well as custom 3D printing are key features differentiating Megladon from many competitors. On-site manufacturing capabilities not only cut lead time but help fulfill orders for customers at a lower cost. When you order through Megladon, we will design, manufacture, assemble, and deliver straight from our facility in Austin. For customers with a Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliance requirement, this means that governmental agencies and others can use our products with “made in the USA” confidence.
OUR HISTORY
Megladon Manufacturing Group, Ltd. was created as a subsidiary of TyRex Group, Ltd. on January 1, 2000, after spending three years as an incubated division, and became the first company to emerge from the TyRex Partnering Program.
In 2000, Megladon began developing intellectual property in the fiber optic arena. The first project, which was the Hardened Lens Contact (HLC)® for fiber optic patch cables, was completed within a tight budget as well as timeline and was a huge success. The technology was patented and implemented for application engineering, creation of manufacturing processes and marketing. The result was a core technology with far-reaching effects in the fiber optic industry.
Today, Megladon promotes the same original culture that has made us successful over the years. Megladon’s company culture is based upon the TyRex Technology Family’s Diamond Disciplines: Prosperity to Longevity, Employee Well-Being, Community Citizenship, Entrepreneurship at every position, Professionalism, and Imagination and Innovation. We believe that all six aspects must not only be present, but in balance, in order to succeed. We also strive to incorporate the highest level of quality in every product we produce, transaction we complete, and effort we undertake. Our quest as part of the TyRex Family is to become “special” as well as successful. This includes a longevity factor that claims we are “built to last.” Along with the individual commitments we have made to our customers, vendors, communities and each other, Megladon is building a strong foundation that will prove invaluable in the years ahead.
