Get to Know AJ Naqvi
AJ is Megladon’s newest technical sales associate. His fiber optic knowledge and ability to deliver fiber connectivity solutions makes him an excellent addition to the team. Aside from building customer success, there’s much more to AJ to Get to Know!
AJ, tell us about yourself – where do you come from? Where have you worked previously?
I was raised in Houston, Texas. I went to school at the University of Texas at Austin – so I’m a Texan through and through! Throughout my college career, I interned in the computer science realm. After I graduated, I freelanced as a digital marketer in the specialized healthcare industry. It was during these pivotal work experiences that I discovered my passion for sales and relationship building.
You’re working your way through the fiber optics industry and have spent considerable time onboard the team. What are some of the highlights you’ve experienced here at Megladon and as a member of the TyRex Group?
I find the technology of fiber optics itself to be fascinating, the intricate physics of light traveling and bouncing internally to cover long distances without degradation is just really cool! It’s a perfect example of how advances in material sciences and engineering can dramatically impact everyday life.
In addition to engineering business success at Megladon, I had the privilege of attending a RecognizeGood event where we highlighted an exceptional volunteer who’s efforts make Austin a brighter place to be! It feels really rewarding to be working for a company that goes out of its way to support the local community.
What specialties are you bringing into your workday? What areas are you most focused on currently?
I bring a strong focus on building and nurturing client relationships. By thoroughly assessing and understanding each client’s unique challenges and objectives, I ensure that our fiber optic solutions are not just products, but strategic assets that address their specific needs. My goal is to provide exceptional customer service and support, guiding clients through the selection and implementation processes to achieve their desired outcomes.
What major projects are you exploring at Megladon and TyRex?
One major project I’m focused on is expanding our custom fiber optic assemblies for data centers. With the increasing demand for high-speed data transmission and reliable connectivity, data centers need advanced fiber optic solutions to manage vast amounts of information efficiently. I’m working on developing and promoting custom assemblies that cater to the specific requirements of data center environments, including high-density configurations and enhanced durability to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Not everyone is an expert in fiber optic connectivity, 3D printing or manufacturing in general. As an industry professional, could you tell us what you think the average person would like to know about this line of work?
I think it would be great for the average person to understand that fiber optics is a critical component of modern infrastructure. Fiber optics are crucial for high-speed internet and reliable telecommunications. This technology is why we can enjoy many of the modern-day luxuries we may take for granted!
At TyRex, we like to say: “We work hard and we play hard, and we continuously foster a caring culture for our employees.” So, when you’re not running production lines and caring for our customers’ products here, what hobby do you most enjoy outside of the facility?
I can’t live without a good book. Reading is my way to relax and unwind, and it also helps me learn and stay inspired. Whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, or something related to my interests, a book is always a cherished companion.
